VIVAnews – Industry Minister Muhamad Suleman Hidayat will visit Japan in early 2010 to meet the newly appointed Japan industry minister.
The meeting is scheduled to keep up with the cooperation on the one village one product (OVOP) concept that has been released several years earlier as the result of Indonesia and Japan partnership.
“The Japanese ambassador came to see me and said that [the ambassador] will arrange a meeting with the industry minister to talk about partnership, mainly in the small industry sector,” said Hidayat in Jakarta on Monday night, Oct. 26.
The partnership proposed by the Indonesian government for 2010 will be implemented in trainings for the Indonesian small- and medium-enterprises’ entrepreneurs from Japan to be able to produce products that meet the international standards, mainly in Japan, since exporting products to Japan is relatively difficult.
Japan will also increase their investment in the small- and medium-enterprises. However, Hidayat did not mention the exact value of the new investment.
He added that the partnership will be extended with a partnership program in several industrial areas in Japan. “They [Japan’s government] promise to help the Indonesian government set out programs in industrial areas,” he said.
