BlackBerry App World Launched in Indonesia

BlackBerry App World was also launched in Singapore.

VIVAnews - An official application desk for BlackBerry smartphone named the BlackBerry App World is launched by the Research in Motion (RIM). Now, BlackBerry users in Indonesia will be able to use the services.

The online application kiosk does not only provide business applications which can be used by general users, but also special applications that were developed in Indonesia. All offered applications are free of charge.

In order to get the applications, the users must first download the BlackBerry App World application from its official website or mobile website on their cell phones.

BlackBerry App World would automatically display applications catalogue according to the type of BlackBerry the users are using. Afterwards, they can download the applications through cellular data access network (GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA) or Wi-Fi.

BlackBerry App World is aimed at every BlackBerry users whose devices equipped with trackball navigation, touch-sensitive trackpad or touchscreen as long as the phone is using the BlackBerry OS version 4.2 and beyond.

The users must also subscribe to BlackBerry services enabling internet access to be able to access the website. Data cost might be charged to users who subscribe to limited BlackBerry services.

“BlackBerry App World aggregate various types of applications which enables the users to find and download applications based on their needs,“ Research in Motion President and Co-CEO, Mike Lazaridis said in a press release received by VIVAnews on October 27.

“We are also retaining the right IT architecture and the control required by our enterprise customers,“ Lazaridis said.

BlackBerry App World was also launched in Singapore.
