VIVAnews - The Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) is getting more intense in seeking supports from various countries concerning the nation's attempt to hosting the 2022 World Cup. After approaching some South American countries, the Association is now collaborating with Australia.
Chief of PSSI Nurdin Halid said both PSSI and the Football Federation Australia (FFA) have nodded to the plan of carrying forward mutual supports in the bidding process.
"PSSI and FFA have agreed to support each other. We have talked about the strategies that we'll take to win the bidding," Nurdin said.
A deal will be sealed to glue the teamwork. Both parties will sign the memorandum of understanding during a PSSI Congress in December 2009.
Indonesia and Australia have intended to host the World Cup. Indonesia is stepping forward in the bidding process for the 2022 World Cup while Australia aims at 2018 and 2022 World Cup.
The bidding process will take place in December 2010.
Indonesia will compete with Qatar, UK, Australia, Japan, USA, Korea and Russia, Spain-Portugal, Mexico and Belgium-Holland.
