Telkom's Capex to be Absorbed Rp 17 Bn

VIVAnews - State telecommunication company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk is targeting an absorption of capital expenditure by Rp 16-17 trillion, or around 85 percent up until the end of the year.

"The absorption of capital expenditure until September reached Rp 13.34 trillion or around 70 percent," Telkom Director of Finance Sudiro Asno addressed a press conference on Monday, Nov 2.

According to him, the capital expenditure of the company's subsidiary PT Telkomsel reached Rp 8 trillion, Telkom Rp 4.4 trillion while other subsidiaries Rp 3.79 billion.

This year's capital expenditure is aimed at new wave by Rp 2.21 trillion and legacy by Rp 13.58 trillion.

Telkom President Director Rinaldi Firmansyah said the absorption of capital expenditure is out of target due to price efficiency.

The company is estimated of spending its capital expenditure by 84-85 percent of the targeted Rp 20.1 trillion. "The remaining 15 percent will be absorbed in the next quarter," he said.

He said that Telkom's capital expenditure by 2010 would reach US$2 billion.

The company is planning to acquire information technology, media and edutainment sectors by 2010.
