Indonesia's XL Earns US$1 Bn in Q3

XL costumers rose by six percent yoy or eight percent qoq.

VIVAnews – PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk. (XL) reported the corporate income in the third quarter this year. The company has managed to secure a Rp 9.8 trillion (around US$1 billion) income from July to September.

Excelcomindo’s income growth from January to September 2009 reached 7 percent yoy (year-on-year) or 8 percent qoq (quarter-on-quarter) with an increase in the earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization by three percent yoy, or 15 percent qoq.

In the same period, it is also reported that XL costumers rose by six percent yoy or eight percent qoq in the end of September 2009, reaching 26.6 million costumers. The company has been monitoring and focusing the revenue generating base (RGB) costumers to increase the profit since early 2009.

The postpaid RGB costumer has increased 17 percent (increasing to 25.2 million customers in September 2009 from 21.5 million costumers in September 2008) or 16 percent qoq (increasing from 21.8 million costumers in June 2009 to 25.2 million costumers in September 2009).

“We are satisfied with the result we achieved in the quarter,” said XL President Director Hasnul Suhaemi on Tuesday, Nov. 3. “We are quite confident to reach a two-digit income growth in 2009.”
