VIVAnews - The Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced that the nation's GDP grew 3.87 percent in quarter III of 2009.
According to BPS Deputy of Balance and Statistical Analysis Slamet Sutomo, the constant prices in the second quarter of 2009 were figured Rp 540.4 trillion while the third quarter recorded Rp 561.3 trillion. "There is a 3.87 percent growth," he said on Tuesday, Nov 10.
He said the growth was shown in miscellaneous industry (7.35 percent), mining (5.08 percent), industry (2.84 percent), electricity and water (1.59 percent), transportation (5.13 percent), finance (1.45 percent) and services (0.32 percent).
Meanwhile, the year-on-year GDP growth reaches 4.21 percent, "concerning Quarter III of 2009 compared to the same quarter of 2008," said Slamet.
