VIVAnews - Until October 2009, 13 oil and gas production sharing contractors could only produce crude oil 50 percent below the target set in the 2009 State Budget Plan.
Chief of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulator (BP Migas) R Priyono said the 13 contract holders include Hess whose target is 9.310 thousand barrels per day (bph) and the average production rate is only 4.607 bph or 49.48 percent.
“Kangean Energy Indonesia Ltd, with the target of 9.000 bph, has only been able to produce 2.133 bph or equal to 23.69 percent,” Priyono said at the opinion-hearing meeting with the House of Representatives’ (DPR) Commission VIII at the DPR building in Jakarta on November 10.
Other holders are the Joint Operating Body (JOB) of Pertamina and Golden Spike Indonesia Ltd with 4.060 bph target and the average production rate of 1,626 bph or equal to 40.05 percent, Mobil Cepu Ltd with the target of 20.000 bph and the average production of 1.525 bph or equal to 7.62 percent and BP Tangguh with the production target of 4.120 bph and the average production of 634 bph or 15.38 percent.
There are also Pearl Oil (Tungkal) Ltd with the target of 2,400 bph with the average production rate of 577 bph or 24.05 percent and the JOB of Pertamina and Hess Jambi Merang with the target production of 850 bph and Medco Malaka with 700 bph target.
Meanwhile, Lapindo Brantas Inc, Energy Equity EPIC (Sengkang) Pty Ltd, Kalila (Bentu) Operator Pty Ltd and Kalila Korinci Baru Operator Pty.Ltd have not conducted any production activities.
