Indonesian Works Displayed in Android Contest

The competition displays various potential works of mobile applications.

VIVAnews - Two Indonesian contestants participated in an event Android Application Program Development in Hong Kong which was sponsored by Conexus Mobile Appliance on Tuesday, Nov 17.

In the event, one of the representatives Andri presented his work Ultraport before the audiences. The application functions to monitor traffic as well as allowing interaction among its users.

In the meantime, another Indonesian finalist Yoga Ariwibowo demonstrated his work Pocket Order, which is applicable for ordering food and paying the bill to various fast-food restaurants from mobile devices.

In the event, the two works stand parallel with 11 other creations from Asia and Pacific. The works of the Indonesian finalists had once won the 2009 Indosat Wireless Innovation Contest (IWIC).

Conexus Mobile Alliance focuses on the breakthrough in Android applications to the participating countries in June 2009.
The event was held to promote Android platform in addition to seeking the best Android developers in Asia and Pacific.

Other Asia-Pacific countries joining the contest including Far EasTone (Taiwan), Indosat (Indonesia), KT Corporation (Korea), NTT DoCoMo (Japan), SMART Communications (Philippines), StarHub (Singapore) and TrueMove (Thailand).

"We believe that this competition will bring forth innovative and easy-to-use mobile applications, which can boost mobile data traffic in Asia-Pacific," said Conexus Mobile Alliance Chief Kaizad B Heerjee as quoted by VIVAnews on Wednesday, Nov 18.

"The competition displays various potential works of mobile applications that can be further developed in Asia and Pacific," he said.
