VIVAnews - In the purpose of protecting substantial data and application from threats of natural disasters, NetApp establishes cooperation with Datamation and Alestra.

The collaboration aims to offer backup and recovery solutions to distortions caused by disasters like floods and earthquake as well as recent electricity problems.

“Protecting applications and users data efficiently on a daily basis is important,” NetApp Indonesia Country Manager for Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines, Steven Law said in Jakarta, November 19. “Especially if you are managing massive data in several locations, starting from data centers to offices located in remote areas,” he said.

Therefore, he continued, a right backup and recovery strategy is the crucial component of IT companies’ infrastructure. “Planning and implementing a right plan is the key to minimize downtime and protect you from the risk of losing the data,” Law said.

Meantime, Datamation Product Manager, Hery Aryanto said employing backup strategy in backup and recovery solutions could conduct duplications up to 20: 1 and save backup time. Recovery, which is supposed to last for hours, is said could be completed in minutes and reduce administrative requirements up to 75 percent.

“With NetApp’s backup and recovery solutions, customers no longer need to worry about losing their important applications and data when a disaster strikes,” Alestra President Director, Andi Harmaini said.
