VIVAnews - Two mass media outlets, Kompas and Seputar Indonesia (Sindo) were summoned by the Indonesian Police regarding the recording transcripts of Anggodo Widjojo’s phone conversations with several parties. Indonesian Police Chief Gen. Bambang Hendarso said the inquisition will not disserve the media.

“The media will be witnesses to Anggodo’s examination. We assure that this process would not scathe the media,” Hendarso said at the opinion-hearing meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR)'s Legal Commission, Commission III, the AGO, and the Anti-graft Commission at the DPR building on Thursday, November 19.

Hendarso also said the police would clarify the media’s connection with Anggodo as the suspect in the inquisition. “It’s to speed up the process. We’ll check again (on which media that will be summoned and the reasons of the summons).

Seputar Indonesia Managing Editor Nevy Hetharia said the paper was asked to explain on Anggodo’s conversations recording which was played at the Constitutional Court on November 3. “I’m going to the inquisition tomorrow at 10am,” Hetharia said.

The recordings were played at the Constitutional Court on Tuesday, November 3. “As reported by Kompas on November 4,” he said.

The summons letter addressed to Kompas was signed by Indonesian Police Criminal Detective Body’s Director II of Economy and Special Cases, Comm. Raja Erizman. “We’ll come if we’re asked to,” Tanuredjo said.
