VIVAnews – Three foreign monetary agencies are competing to take hold of three power plant projects from the state electricity company PLN, which are valuing up to US$1.66 billion.
“All the financing comes from export credit,” said PLN planning and technology director Bambang Praptono in Jakarta on Monday, Nov. 23.
Praptono said that the power plant projects which are now in the tender phase include the underwater cable channel in Bali, valuing US$60 million, the amplifying project in Jakarta worth US$300 million, and the capacity increase of Muara Tawar power plant, valuing US$1 billion.
Meanwhile, the three monetary agencies which are listed in the tender are namely JBIC and JICA from Japan, as well as KfW from Germany.
The Muara Tawar power plant with a capacity of 1,200 megawatt costs US$1 billion. The financing from the export credit reaches US$850 million, while PLN allocates US$150 million.
