World Bank Offers Aid for Flood Mitigation

The government is nonetheless negotiating with the World Bank concerning the fund offer.

VIVAnews - Director General of Debt Management at the Ministry of Finance Rahmat Waluyanto said the World Bank offered aid for coping with flood in Jakarta. The offer will be included in the Jakarta Emergency Dredging Initiative.

Rahmat said that by the first quarter of 2010, the US$135.5 million fund will be prepared. However, Jakarta administration will be allocated budget by US$56.4 million.

"In the first quarter of 2010, the value will be US$135.5 million. The Jakarta administration will have US$56.4 million of on-lending," said Rahmat on Tuesday, Nov 24.

The government is nonetheless negotiating with the World Bank concerning the fund offer.

In addition to the fund aid, the handling of the Jakarta flood will be optimized by the realization of the State Budget and Jakarta Regional Budget.
