VIVAnews - Research company IDC reported that Indonesia sits atop the list of PC users in Southeast Asia. Between January and September 2009, the number of sold PCs in the country reached 2.25 million units.

In fact, up until the end of 2009, the IDC predicted that the number of sold PCs will be around 3 million units.

"One of the factors affecting the PC market is the high population in the archipelago," said IDC market analyst Handoko Andi in Jakarta, Nov 25. "PC market has penetrated into the regions outside Jakarta," he said.

According to IDC's record, around 25 percent PCs sold in Indonesia are assembled models. HP computers are second on the list, with around 20.7 percent. IDC Asia/Pacific Quarterly PC Tracker Q3/2009 mentioned that concerning the sold PCs, HP improved sales by 70.2 percent compared to the previous quarter.

In the report, IDC also recorded that growth occurred in notebook sales. As an illustration, by early 2009, notebook sales were still lower than PC sales, which is quite the contrary with the end of the year.
