VIVAnews - Power supply in Jakarta and Tangerang will still have 50 megawatt deficit until the end of the year. In fact, Christmas and New Year's holidays are coming.
Managing Director of state electricity company PLN Fahmi Mochtar said gas supplier PT Pertamina Hulu Energi will hold maintenance over the ONWJ block by the end of the year. The block supplies gas to gas and steam power plant Muara Karang and Tanjung Priok.
"With the maintenance of the ONWJ Block, the gas supply capacity will decrease by 85 percent," said Fahmi in Jakarta on Tuesday, December 1.
The support will take place by the end of December in a effort to reduce the peak load of Jakarta's electricity because industry applies holiday during Christmas and New Year. "But, still, Jakarta will have a deficit by 50 MW," he said.
In addition, Fahmi said the repairing process in the high voltage transformer in Cawang is on the go.
Director General of Electricity and Energy Utilization J Purwono vowed that the electricity supply will not be hindered. "The supply to the public will secure," he said.
Purwono believed that the on-going repair will be completed as planned.
