VIVAnews - EMC, a producer in information infrastructure for both hardware and software, had previously announced in 2008 that it will invest US$ 1.7 billion for the entire APJ region through 2012.
The investment will be embedded in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) and aims to support product innovations, EMC development, customer support and the capability to get into all of the market in the region.
“The allocated fresh fund is to establish an executive briefing center (EBC), competency center and factories in China,” EMC Indonesia Country Manager, Adi J Rusli said in Jakarta on December 10.
He also said the EBC belonging to EMC, which was built in Singapore in early 2009, has just been included in EMC’s EBC network in the US, Ireland and Japan.
“Through the program, which has involved 300,000 people since 1994, EMC and its partners will shorten their marketing campaign, control the income and help sell EMC’s information infrastructure solution portfolio with high business values,” Rusli said. “Later on, the focus will be on EMC’s competency center”.
As for funds allocated to factory constructions, Rusli said the EMC would use them to build manufacturing factories for storage. “This is an attempt to overcome demand problem, especially in APJ. The existence of the factories allows the company to save distribution costs and time,” he said. “We’ve had one on Ireland”.
Rusli also pointed out that his company may not spend much of the budget on Indonesia. “Because so far, Indonesia only needs company certifications,” he said.
