VIVAnews - A South Korean investor Circle One will build a 2x100 MW steam-based power plant in Mulut Tambang, Jambi, with an investment of US$250 million.
State electricity company PLN Managing Director Fahmi Mochtar said Circle One is a subsidiary of PT Karya Bumi Baratama, which focuses on coal mining.
"The project is supported by the South Korean government," he said on Monday, Dec 14.
The feasibility study was conducted by PT PLN Enjiniring as of 2010, which will be financed by the South Korean government.
According to him, the project may be completed in three years.
PLN also gives way for South Korea to invest in other areas in Indonesia. "In the future, Indonesia will need more generators and transmission," he said.
