VIVAnews - PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) booked a net profit of US$362 million until the third quarter of 2009.
However, a decrease of 27 percent of profit was recorded compared to the third quarter of 2008 at US$496 million.
Bumi Resources Investor Relations Senior Vice President Dileep Srivastava said the company owns tax liability worth US$173 million in the third quarter of 2009, while it was only US$6 million in the same period of last year.
"Without calculating the tax, our profit reached US$535 million," he told VIVAnews in Jakarta, Dec 31.
Bumi managed to reduce the costs of production to 15 percent.
