Tax Arrears Hit US$5.4 billion

Asset confiscation would be set out if the red-handed still refuse to pay tax.

VIVAnews - The Directorate General of Taxes recorded that the amount of tax arrears reaches Rp 51 trillion (US$5,460,385,438). However, Director General of Taxes Mochamad Tjiptardjo refused of revealing the dead-beats.

Tjiptardjo only said that the tax assessment and collection will this year be intensified.

One of the strategies designed to collect tax would be that of confiscating assets belonging to the red-handed.

Tjiptardjo claimed that the targeted revenues of the tax assessment this year worth Rp 5.13 trillion. The target is higher compared to the realization of the last assessment of Rp 2.54 billion in 2008 and Rp 3.36 trillion in 2009.
