VIVAnews - Throughout this week, the Indonesian rupiah has gained an unexpected appreciation to Rp 9,200 against US dollar.
Temporary Governor of Bank Indonesia in office Darmin Nasution said the gain is tightly related to the inflow of foreign exchange. Foreign investors are into a race to invest in Indonesia.
"They are projecting that the BI Rate would remain at its current level," said Darmin on Thursday, Jan 7. However, he reminded that the situation may only be interim.
"Several days back, the rupiah gained quite high of a value. It should have not been that fast," he said.
