VIVAnews - Indonesian capital Jakarta is a pot where a sea of homeless children wander here and there aimlessly. The Jakarta Social Agency recorded that at least 4.023 outcast kids were spread on various streets of the capital.

The said areas include amusement park Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Cilandak, Tomang and Coca-Cola junction.

"Most children are coming from the less controlled areas. It oftentimes occurs that the street children are organized by a party," said a Jakarta official Budiharjo on Monday, Jan 11.

Another problem remains at the children development centers which are mostly over capacity. It causes the institutions to restrict the children's development to six months before finally letting the children go.

"The six available houses are overloaded. We can only grant three months for development and another three months on training," said Budihardjo.

He said the training is somestimes useless as there are less jobs out there.

Upon the matter, the agency will in no time team up with private sectors by fleshing out their CSR programs.
