VIVAnews - Indonesia-based Bank Central Asia installs ATMs all over the provinces in Indonesia. The international banking criminals saw this as a chance to crack the system and steal the money. BCA is not only breached from Toronto, Canada, but also Australia.
BCA Deputy Director Jahja Setiaatmaja said that the loss from the illegal fund withdrawal from Australia hit 90 percent of the existing fund. The bank later decided to block every transaction from the country.
"We have blocked off transactions in Australian dollars," Jahja addressed a press conference on Friday, Jan 22.
Due to the crime, Jahja said the bank is applying the monitoring system on fund fissure. The system is implemented to detect anomaly in transactions. "This is an early warning system," he said.
BCA is now inducting PIN detector and thinner duck-billed skimmer. The device can only hold one card. "This device is secure. There won't be any card reduplication," he said.
Double protection over the customers who use the bank's ATMs is also carried out.
