VIVAnews - Along 2009, PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara paid Rp 3.9 trillion (US$417.1 million) to the state in line with financial obligation toward the Indonesian government. The payment was according to the provisions stipulated in the Working Contract Article 13 on Financial Obligation of PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara.
The largest payment is that of income tax (PPh 25) of Rp 3.3 trillion, royalty (Rp 239 billion), and individual income of Rp 186 billion.
"This is due to the PPh 25 tariff applied to PT NNT of 35 percent referring to the working contract," said External Relations Senior Manager of PT NNT Arif Perdanakusumah on Tuesday, Feb 2.
Since the company commenced its operation in late 2009, PT NNT has paid tax, nontax and royalty by Rp 15.149 trillion to the state.
"As governmental contractor, we are always committed to meeting our financial obligation as stipulated by the working contract and other applied provisions," said Arif.
Newmont Nusa Tenggara possesses gold and copper mining concession in Batu Hijau Field, West Sumbawa regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The gold and copper reserves in the field are expected to remain until 2027.
