VIVAnews - Hundreds of electric train passengers assaulted the safeguarding officers in a station in Jakarta and hijacked the train KA 257 which was bound to Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

The unexpected onset was likely due to the measures taken by about 50 station officers against the passengers. It was reported that the officers told the train roof riders to get down in an unlikely manner.

"Those riders of train roof were upset because some were beaten by the officers. As a result, the assault took place," said Wardoyo, a hawker at Pasar Minggu Station today, Feb 3.

The train was starting to proceed when a number of passengers broke into the engineer's cabin. The engineer was forced to stop the train.

Hundreds of roof riders stepped down all at once and fought back the officers. They then made damage to two ticket windows at the station.

"The launched a sudden attack," said the commander of the station security officers Levis Arianto.

Being outnumbered, the officers and other staff left the station.

After ruining the ticket windows, the angry crowd climbed up the train and called on the engineer to turn on the machine.

Two officers were injured whole a passenger suffered from a serious wound on its lefy eye.
