VIVAnews - A philanthropist and founder of the Open Society Institute George Soros today meets the Indonesian Vice President, Boediono, in the vice presidential office.

Boediono during the meeting presented about the economic and financial situations in Indonesia. It is expected that Soros through his views may influence other investors.

"The vice president explained about the economic and financial situations in Indonesia. He talked about the big picture. We did not hold substantive talks," said Soros on Wednesday, Feb 10.

According to vice presidential spokesperson Yopie Hidayat, Soros wanted to be informed of the economic situation in Indonesia due to its investment potentials.

"Indonesia is according to Soros caught by the investment radar. Soros said there is huge interest for the investment in Indonesia," said Yopie.

Mr Boediono, said Yopie, expected that Soros is still influential amongst investors.
