VIVAnews - Economic analyst Christianto Wibisono criticized a number of parties which are against the Asean-China Free Trade Agreement.

According to him, the refutation would otherwise humiliate Indonesia, one of the top Asean countries.

"Indonesia is a first-class Asean countries like Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand," he told VIVAnews in Jakarta, February 14.

However, in reality, many are in opposition to the agreement. "It's much the same as putting Indonesia the second-class Asean country. This is embarassing," he said.

He stressed that Indonesia has signed the deal, which, as a consequence, should be proceeded with. "Stepping back is not right," he said.

The government should improve in an attempt to cope with the free trade agreement.
