VIVAnews - At least four Americans were deported by the immigration office of West Aceh, Indonesia, on Thursday, Feb 18, for allegedly misusing their travel visa. The US citizens, all of them are dentists, held free medical services.

"We deported them this morning through Cut Nyak Dhien Nagan Raya Airport. Due to the violation, they were banned from visiting Indonesia for a year," said Meulaboh Immigration Office Chief, Suryo Santoso today.

The four are Steven Kyle Cromwell, 50, William Clinton Sasser, 67, John Zechariah Thobaben, 30, Michael Lee Fredman, 44.

According to Suryo, they were arrested on site of the medical clinic as they offered free service toward the tsunami victims in Budha Tzu Chi housing, Peunaga Paya Village, Meureubo Subdistrict, Monday.

"After an investigation was set up, they were proven of violating the travel visa," he said.

The four Americans arrived in Meulaboh on Thursday of last week.

"They have a good mission as a matter of fact. But they have inappropriate visas," he said.
