VIVAnews - The Rupiah exchange rate in the Jakarta interbank spot market against US dollar during the opening trade today was positive. In the early trading, the local currency was at IDR9,270 against US dollar.
On Tuesday's closing, March 2, the Rupiah was closed at IDR9,200 against US dollar in the Jakarta interbank spot market.
According to Yudhi Setiawan, foreign exchange dealer at PT OCBC NISP Tbk, the appreciation of the Rupiah this morning was affected by the capital inflow through the auction of state bond and the certificate of Bank Indonesia.
"In addition, the plenary meeting at the House of Representatives yesterday on the Bank Century case did not upset the market much," he told VIVAnews on Wednesday, March 3.
Yudho said the positive swing of most global and regional currencies against US dollar have helped the Rupiah to gain.
Based on Bloomberg at 8.30 AM today, the Rupiah was at IDR9,266 against US dollar.
