VIVAnews - The Indonesian government decided to channel most of gas supply from Chevron as an attempt to settle the national gas crisis in the country.
Industry Minister MS Hidayat assured that the gas issue has been solved in time.
"The gas problem is done. The 20 percent cut is canceled because there's reallocation from Chevron," said Hidayat today, March 11.
However, the solution applies only within a short while. Hidayat then explained that more LNG receiving terminals should be built to maximize gas exploration in Donggi-Senoro.
Due to gas crisis, state gas company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) plans to cut 20 percent of gas supply for such industries as ceramics, glass and steel which would be realized on April 1, 2010.
