VIVAnews - Protests against the visit of US President Barack Obama have widely emerged. Hundreds of people from the University Forum Coordination Agency (BKLDK) of West Java are also part of the opposing parties. They expressed their objection by conducting a rally in front of Bandung’s Gedung Sate on Friday, March 12.
The agency coordinator Chandra said Obama was not any different than the former president George W Bush. According to him, both Obama and Bush are leading a capitalism-implementing country.
He also said Obama’s visit will enhance the secular capitalism system that has been a source of issues in Indonesia. “Obama is not supposed to be welcomed. It will support economic colonization,” he said.
He also reminds people not to buy America’s ‘sweet talk’. He presumes every collaboration with the country will end up in losses. “All they think about is themselves,” he said.
The demonstrators were bringing along a poster displaying a photo of Obama with a shoe on his face framed in a target. They also carried other posters saying “Obama Is Coming With A Capitalism Threat” and “Say No To Obama The Muslim Killer”.
