VIVAnews - Symantec Corp has released the Internet Security Threat Report volume XV that highlights the major trends of cyber crimes from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009.
In 2009, where two famous Cyber attack—Conficker in the beginning of the year and Hydraq in the end—Symantec Internet Security Threat Reports revealed that the volume and the level of cybercrime threats will keep increasing.
“The attack has evolved from simple scams to advanced espionage movement that aims at some of the world’s biggest entities and government institutions,” Symantec’s Security Technology and Response Senior Vice President, Stephen Trilling said in a statement on Friday, April 30.
The report also mentions that Indonesia is the third biggest spam senders in South East Asia while Thailand and Vietnam are said to be the countries with the most spam producers.
Among other countries in Asia-Pacific and Japan, Indonesia is ranked eighth in the list of biggest spam senders with 2 percent of the total percentage of spams in the region.
“The scale of the attack and the fact that they we’re coming from all over the world have made cybercrimes an international issue that required collaboration between private sectors and the governments”, Trilling said.
