VIVAnews - A legend from Liverpool FC Ian Rush will visit Indonesia between May 14 and 15 to provide soccer training to Indonesian kids.
Rush accepted the invitation sent by the British Chamber of Commerce. The 48 year-old man will participate in various events that the commission will set up.
"Soccer is not only popular in England and Indonesia. It can be the media to glue our partnership with Indonesia. We're very glad that Ian Rush will have the chance to work together with one of our partners KDM Green Project. The KDM has been cooperating with the British Embassy to recycle waste and reduce carbon emissions as well as helping the street children of Jakarta," said Director of British Trade and Investment Debbie Clarke.
KDM is an NGO specializing in gathering and processing used goods. The fund from the activities will be used to aid children's education.
Under Britcham's 'Giving Kids A Sporting Chance', Rush will helm the training of around 300 kids of around 7 to 10 years old in coaching clinic and soccer exhibitions. The 'Giving Kids A Sporting Chance' has involved more than 1,500 children in the last six months.
