VIVAnews - Bank Indonesia recorded that the growth in banking credit up until May 2010 was at 6.07 percent worth Rp 87 trillion.
"The year-to-date credit growth is still low according to BI (Bank Indonesia)," said acting BI Governor, Darmin Nasution, yesterday, June 2.
According to Darmin, despite the low year-to-date credit growth, the year-on-year growth has been higher at more than 17 percent.
The growth, according to him, has been in line with the the estimation made by BI on the 2010 credit growth at 17-20 percent. BI's data shows that the yoy credit grows 17.63 percent by Rp 227 trillion.
Given the condition, BI will soon examine the targeted credit growth which was set at 17-20 percent.
However, BI will still monitor the credit progress in the next few months.
In every two weeks, he said, credit always rises. "One was at 16 percent. Two weeks earlier recorded 14 percent. The yoy growth increases in every two weeks," he said.
Darmin said that BI will not apply new terms and conditions in no time which will tie the loan deposit ratio regulations to reserve requirement.
