A piece can be created based on the process of contemplation, but it can also come from a personal experience or the experience of others. Pintu (Door) originated from all three. A door, in its everyday sense, can mean a threshold between the outer and the inner, a barrier between private space and social space. Then, what if the private space and social space meet? What else is the door for?
Puisi Tubuh (Body Poetry) begins with the body as an anatomical form and the space in which it moves. The body is a unit in which all the parts (arms, head, etc.) each move according to their own functions. The body itself has a spirit which gives birth to expression and feeling: a sick body, a strong body, and so on. Thus, many kinds of inner space are created within and expressed through our own bodies.
The dancers involved in this performance are Sarah Sulaiman, Zulkani Alfian, Muhamad Hiban Hasibuan, Robert Wandelta Putra, Fitra Airiansyah, and Ali Sukri himself. The music is composed by Elizar Koto and the scenario is by Yusril.
