VIVAnews - Wilmar International aims at investing US$2 billion in Indonesia and is likely to be focused on Sumatra and Kalimantan.
Head of the Capital Investment Coordinating Board, Gita Wirjawan, said the investment will also target Merauke, Papua, as regards agricultural sector.
"They're indeed looking at Merauke for agricultural sector," said Gita in Jakarta on Monday, June 21.
According to Gita, the investment will be ready this year.
Gita said that he remained uninformed of the business potentials that Wilmar is paying attention to. However, Wilmar has intended to invest in various provinces.
"The chance for the investment in Merauke would be at US$10 billion including the infrastructures and other supporting elements," he said.
