VIVAnews - The Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Agung Laksono said the government would be replacing the regulators and tubes that have been considered as the causes of gas tank explosions.
“The president has approved the replacement, starting tomorrow, especially for the components, regulators and gas tubes that have allegedly caused the explosions,” the minister said after presenting the report to the president at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, July 6.
He also said people will be able to trade their tubes and regulators with the ones with the Indonesia National Standard on them. The tubes will cost Rp 15 thousand each and the regulators will go for Rp 20 thousand each. Meanwhile, the 10 percent sales tax will be paid by the government.
“The goods will be able for pick-up starting tomorrow at LGP-distributing Pertamina agents. That way, people can repair their gas tanks and stoves, especially those two components (regulators and tubes),” Laksono, the member of Golkar Party, said.
However, the particular government plan has been one day behind the schedule.
According to Laksono, the delay was due to administrative and consolidation issues in order to organize the trade properly.
“It was delayed for a day so that the consolidation runs according to procedures. [This involves] related procurement and administrations,” he said.
Earlier, the discussion on the hose and regulator replacement has been included in the Gas Cylinder Meeting at the Vice Presidential Palace.
