VIVAnews - A number of pundits joining the Indonesian Vision 2033 team recommended that the government mull over the possibility to bed out the Indonesian capital to other provinces but Java. They believe that the packed island can no longer be the center of administration and the economy.

"It should be translocated to certain province outside Java," Andrinof A Chaniago, an initiator of the Indonesian Vision 2033, told VIVAnews today, July 29.

The Island of Java only covers 6.7 percent of total area of Indonesia, yet it is inhabited by 60 percent of the nation's population.

"We've in our pocket data and analyses on the future situation of Java Island and Jakarta regarding their ecosystems, socio-economic condition, political manner, the economy as well as development," said Andrinof.

Earlier, demands on the transfer of the Indonesian capital to another province were brought to mind as Jakarta has been seen by many as losing its aptness as a capital due to serious traffic jam and susceptibilities to disasters. Kalimantan is deemed ideal to become the next province where the Indonesian capital would be situated.
