VIVAnews - Indonesia is home of smart mobile internet users as regards the allocation of tech budget, according to Opera Software International Communication Manager, Peko Wan, yesterday, July 28.
According to the Taiwan-based man, Indonesian users mostly prefer Opera Mini to Opera Mobile resulting in lower data consumption. It is due to the browser's ability to compress a web page which is formerly accessed by the users.
In addition, data from Opera servers show that the majority of Opera Mini users in Indonesia use Nokia handsets. However, most of the gadgets are those basing on the Symbian S40 platform.
"Indonesian mobile internet users are really sensitive to charges. They use Opera Mini and S40 platformed gadgets that are more affordable. It's a smart choice," said Peko Wan.
Meanwhile, he said, there has been shifting in the habit of Indonesian mobile internet users. In 2009, the mobile internet users were more likely to log in on social network sites.
"Today, Indonesian users also use mobile internet browser to seek information," said Peko.
