VIVAnews - The Indonesian government plans to repair Indonesian inter-province road, which is expected to finish prior to 2015. The recondition program is aimed at welcoming the Asean Economic Community (AEC) by 2015.
According to Minister for the Economy, Hatta Rajasa, the touching up has been one of the commitments of Asean countries on connectivity.
"In Asean, there are standards where roads can endure 10 tonnes of loads compared to the previous 8 tonnes," said Hatta in Jakarta today, August 13.
As a result, Asean countries are joining with China in establishing an infrastructure fund agency. The amount of fund prepared for the touching up program reaches US$500 billion.
"In addition to a blue-print in logistics system, there're also special economic zones and six corridors," said Hatta. "Within the context, Indonesia will make use of the fund."
The redoing of the Asean's connectivity covers quite an extensive area. "The highway will stretch from Sumatra to Bali, heading toward the eastern parts of Indonesia," he said.
