VIVAnews - The Narcotics Agency of Bali tightly monitors aircraft pilots in the province. Not only does the agency focus on those flying Lion Air airplanes in which four of the pilots were proved positive using meth, but other pilots from several airlines.
"We're teaming up with the National Narcotics Agency to overlook the pilots in Sanur," said Chief of Bali Narcotics Agency, Budiartha, today.
Budiartha in fact feared that the said pilots are part of international drug network in Indonesia. The reason for this is that pilots are subjects to certain privileges in the airport.
The Bali Narcotics Agency also scrutinizes flight attendants as they work hand in hand with pilots in daily jobs. As a result, there was a huge chance that flight attendants collaborate with pilots in drug trafficking.
"Within the past two years, Bali has witnessed rising percentage of drug trafficking through the airport. In 30 cases, almost every case involve eight foreigners," said Budiartha.
"We believe that pilots and flight attendants are involved," said Budiartha.
