VIVAnews - The economic crisis caused Bin Laden Group delays its investment plant in Indonesia's agricultural sector. The top Middle East business group has not yet confirmed of the plan.
"Several years ago, Bin Laden Group was interested to invest [in Indonesia]. However, due to the crisis, no progress has been made," said Minister of Agriculture Anton Apriyantono on Tuesday, March 3.
Anton said the crisis has slowed down the investment. "In fact, we have prepared the land in South Kalimantan, Papua and Southeast Sulawesi," said Apriyantono.
"In various occasions, the government always offers investment not only for Indonesia but also other countries," he said.
For instance, Indonesian counseling experts were once assigned to African countries. "We are inviting officers of agricultural sector from other countries, including Palestine and Timor Leste to be trained in Indonesia," he said.
In addition to drilling agricultural officers, he said, Indonesia also offers Indonesia's quality seeds to be planted in other countries.
"Some time ago Indonesia helped Timor Leste with seeds. I will come to region to take part in the first harvest in the near future," said Apriyantono.
