VIVAnews- An elephant of Way Kambas Jungle killed Suhendra, 28, member of Way Kambas National Forest Rangers (Polhut TNWK) in Lampung. He was trampled by the animal.

The tragedy occured on Wednesday night, May 6, when Suhendra and his co-workers were patrolling in the forest by riding a tame elephant.

When the rangers were patrolling, Suhendra accidentally fell and was stepped on by one of the elephants on duty.

"There were eight elephants ridden by the patrol team, one of them was ridden by Suhendra," Head of TNWK's Elephant Training Research, Marwan, said. "It happened so fast and everybody was panic stricken".

Suhendra's body was directly brought to his house in Kota Agung, Tanggamus by the TNWK officials. When this report was written, the body was on its way there.

Suhendra left a pregnant wife and a child. His family lives in Kota Agung, Tanggamus regency, Lampung.

According to the plan, Suhendra's body will be buried on Thursday, May 7 at 10 AM. TNWK has given donations to Suhendra's family.

Based on the report, patrolling TNWK is routinely done by a team that consists of members from three different departments in TNWK, which are the TNWK Rangers, the TNWK Section III Horse, and the elephant tamers. (tvone)
