VIVAnews - PT Biofarma booked profit of Rp 136 billion (US$13.01 million) in the 2008 fiscal year, an increase compared to 2007 with Rp 117 billion.
"This year's targeted profit will be only Rp 120 billion," said President Director of PT Biofarma, Isa Mansyur, in Jakarta on Monday, May 11.
Mansyur explained that the cut in the targeted profit is due to the global financial crisis. "All Biofarma's foreign buyers negotiate the prices," he said. This is the reason of why Biofarma reduces the company's profit to Rp 120 billion compared to the 2008 profit realisation Rp 136 billion.
Biofarma earned Rp 805 billion of income in 2008, which exceeded 20 percent of the targeted company's working and budgeting plans. The income was also higher than 2007 with Rp 745 billion. The figure for the 2009 income may reach Rp 950 billion.
The company is allocating Rp 250 billion for the 2009 capital expenditure.
