VIVAnews - As the conflict between Indonesian and its neighboring country Malaysia escalates as regards the oil-rich Ambalat block, the Indonesian government will seriously defend the region through diplomatic approaches.

Defense Minister Juwono Sudarsono said the Indonesian government will not surrender the land to Malaysia.

"We will not be bargaining over the issue. We will afford diplomatic efforts as well as perform possible show of force to defend the Indonesia's sovereignty in Ambalat," he said.

Indonesia threatens that it will restrict Malaysia's cross-commerce and investment in Indonesia should Malaysia continue violate the Indonesian territories concerning especially with Ambalat.

For the time being, a number of representatives from the House of Representatives Commission I hold a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak. They protest against the actions made by Malaysian battle ship in the Indonesian territories.

If in the future Malaysia still commits any violation, there will be no way out. The Commission I advocates immediate confrontation against Malaysia.

"If Malaysia still commits violations, we are fully in support of any direct confrontation with Malaysia," said Commission I member Yusron Ihza Mahendra on Monday, June 8.
