VIVAnews - It is reported that a foreign aviation company is approaching PT Indonesia Air Transport Tbk. (IATA). The company intends to acquire the charter commercial aviation company's shares.

An unnamed source for VIVAnews said that the company and foreign institution are going to meet to discuss the sale price along with the divestment plan by IATA's holding company in 2009.

IATA's corporate secretary Joe Denie when asked for confirmation said that there is not any company or foreign institution which intends to own the company's shares. "We did not hear the news and it is incorrect," he said to VIVAnews in Jakarta on Moday, June 15.

Meanwhile in the first three months in 2009 the company recorded a Rp 67.01 billion business income, higher 31.33 percent compared to the same period in 2008 of Rp 51.03 billion.

However, the increase in net liabilities caused the company's net loss jumped 169.64 percent to Rp 38.93 billion of the first quarter in 2008 which only valued Rp 14.44 billion.
