VIVAnews - The Indonesian police continue investigate alleged violations against open meeting campaign committed by couple Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY)- Boediono's campaign team. Today, Tuesday, June 16, the police summoned the team.

One of the team members who were recalled is the National Awakening Party (PKB)’s Advisory Board Secretary, Andi Muawiyah Ramly.

“I came as a team member of National Campaign Team of Sulawesi Regional Coordinator,” he said after being queried for two hours at the Police Headquarter on Jalan Trunojoyo, Tuesday, June 16.

Ramly also said there were about 2000 guests attended the SBY-Boediono’s National Coalition Political Party Gathering in Jakarta Fair event on May 30, 2009. The guests were those from the campaign team and parties in the coalition. He was sure there was not any outsider during the gathering.

“We had an attendance and guest list. We were very selective”, he said.

Besides Ramly, the police also summoned some of the members of the campaign team including the Head of Democratic Reinforcement Party’s Central Board, Didi Sjahrir Panigoro.

Earlier, on Friday, June 12, the police summoned Metro TV’s Executive Producer, Elman Saragih and TVRI’s General Manager, Purnomo. On Wednesday, June 10, the police also invited Democratic Party’s Secretary General, Marzuki Alie.

The case began when the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) reported presidential candidate, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, SBY-Boediono’s Head of campaign team, Hatta Rajasa, TVRI’s News Director, and Metro TV’s Executive Producer to the police on Saturday, June 6.

SBY and his campaign team were allegedly campaigning outside the schedule during the National Coalition Political Party Gathering. Meanwhile, the two TV station directors were reported for broadcasting SBY’s speech entirely (TVRI) and partly (Metro TV).

The report, which was filed by Bawaslu’s special staff, Rosalita Chandra, was registered on Saturday at 9 p.m with the code: TBL/ 03/ VI /2009/ Gakumdu. The police had 14 days to follow the report up.

In his clarification, SBY-Boediono’s Head of campaign team, Hatta Rajasa, said the gathering was held simply to consolidate and internally educate the pair’s campaign team.
