VIVAnews - The European Union has banned every Indonesian airline to fly on the european skies as of July 2007.
Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Hassan Wirajuda said European countries will shortly lift the flight ban for four Indonesian airlines by early June.
"The flight ban imposed on Garuda Indonesia, Mandala Airlines, Prime Air and Air Fast will be lifted," said the minister on Monday, June 22.
According to Wirajuda, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) praised over the improving performance and safety of the Indonesian airlines.
He said that Indonesia has complied with most points of clarification issued by the EASA.
"62 out of 69 conditions have been confirmed while seven others are still discussed," he said.
However, he added that it is difficult for the Indonesian airlines to equip their aircrafts with GPS, which is expensive.
