VIVAnews - The government has not yet determined the first buyer of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) produced in Tangguh field, Papua. The government only chose Fujian (China), Sempra, Posco, and K Power as the buyers.
The government is worried that Fujian's receiving terminal which is the main export destination is not yet prepared, as stated by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro in Jakarta on Friday, 26 June.
Yusgiantoro said that the government could not yet confirm the shipment. The government readied another option: the LNG is produced and shipped to PTT Thailand as a buyer. The reason for this is that the LNG first drop is scheduled on June 28.
The government has renegotiated the price at US$38 per barrel with K Power and POSCO.
As for Fujian, the negotiation to rise the price above the oil price of US$38 per barrel is still underway.
