VIVAnews - Haji Adam Malik Central Hospital in Medan admitted six other swine patients from the same family.

The family was admitted by the hospital on Thursday, July 2 while suffering from a fever with the average temperature of 36 to 38 Celsius degrees. The family consists of Tgs (42 years old, the father), M (36 years old), Da (7 years old), A (14 years old), I (9) and G (39 years old).

According to the hospital’s spokesperson, Atmawijaya, the six patients boarded the same Air Asia plane with five patients who were first hospitalized because of the virus infection.

“The patients who are still suffering from high fever are only Da and A. Their current body temperature are both 38.9 Celsius degrees,” Atmawijaya said.

The patients are now being nursed in an isolation room. “We have sent their blood sample to Jakarta to be examined,” he said.

Earlier, Adam Malik Hospital admitted five swine flu patients. That means the total number of patients at the hospital is 11. “If the condition of the five previous patients has improved, we can let them go home but they’ll have to put on a mask and are not allowed to go outside the house,” he said.

There are still 164 other passengers of the plane who could also be infected with the virus. Right now the airport officials are still collecting the data of the passengers.
