VIVAnews - NetApp has appointed Steven Law, who is currently the Country Manager of NetApp Indonesia, to helm NetApp Vietnam and Philippines as well. Law will have to directly report to Suresh Nair, the ASEAN NetApp Managing Director and be responsible for managing sales, services, and marketing of NetApp in Indonesia, Vietnam, and Philippines.

Law has been coordinating the company’s sales and channels for more than 12 years. He joined NetApp in 2005. While managing NetApp Indonesia, Law has received multiple awards and honorary titles such as The Most Dependable Performer ASEAN 2006, Asia Pacific Sales Of the year 2007, The Best NetApp ASEAN Team for Indonesia 2007, and The first local deployment of storage heterogeneous replication in Asia Pacific 2007.

Law has also successfully made NetApp Indonesia the storage vendor with the fastest growth in Indonesia. Due to his accomplishments, Law is now trusted to also lead NetApp Vitenam and Phillipines in order to bring the two countries to the next level.

“As an Indonesian, I am honored to get a chance to be appointed leader in other countries,” Law said as quoted by VIVAnews from his official statement made on July 9. “On the other hand, I am also challenged by the trust given to me. Therefore, I will be working hard to give the best to NetApp Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines,” he said.

He also said that it was not easy to be a storage market leader. The competition among the storage vendors was getting more intense not only in Indonesia, but also in Vietnam and Philippines. Vietnam’s storage market is estimated to have yearly growth by more than 40 percent while in Philippines the annual growth is estimated to reach 30 percent.

“We believe our technology and solutions have differed us from any other storage vendor. It is proven by the high number of customers who seeks help from NetApp concerning storage and data management, especially when they face budget reduction including fees and infrastructures,” Law said.

Steven Law started his professional career in 1999 as a channel manager in laptop distributor company, Toshiba. In 2002 Law joined APC as an Enterprise Sales Manager. At the APC, Law and his team made Indonesia the Best Country in the ASEAN regions for its InfraStruXure solutions and business units.
