VIVAnews – PT Semen Gresik Tbk. (SMGR) is going to construct a new cement factory in Indarung, West Sumatra.
Semen Gresik's managing director Dwi Soetjipto says that the investment value needed for the factory construction reaches Rp 3.5 trillion.
“The necessary fund will be taken half from the internal budget and another half from the external loan,” he said in Jakarta on Friday, July 24.
He explains that the factory capacity reaches 2.5 million metric tons per year and the construction will be started in 2010. Meanwhile, it is targeted to be operational in the end of 2011 or early 2012.
In the same occasion, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Sofyan Djalil says that the national cement growth will hit 140 metric ton (MT) in 2020, higher three times than 2009's 46 MT.
Therefore, it is expected that the cement company will no longer construct power plants, instead focusing on cement production improvement.
